My way of entering census info is to have an event for each of the items and source each entry. If the person is already in my database, I source each of the events that correspond to what I have. If the info doesn't correspond, I enter the new info and source the new info.
Name
Born
Residence - street address goes into Desc, remainder goes into Location; also if person was living with a relative or in another household Marital status - only changes or to indicate a person was still single at age 40, etc
Children - how many children, how many still living
Place of birth (for mother and father also)
Occupation - including whether the person is self-employed or not
Education - including if he attended school and/or can read and write
Real Estate - whether renting or owning, amt of rent and/or worth of real estate and personal estate
Military Service
Radio

Just my way of entering the census info. Have been doing it this way for over 7 years.

Paul,

Do you create a CENSUS event for the person, or RESIDENCE, OCCUPATION, etc?

Hi
I have accumulated a lot of English census information I want to add to my family tree in Legacy. I would be interested in how other Legacy Users
might
do this.

Garry;

I have 899 source files according to the
Legacy Home page... a lot is census
information. I do it twice actually, I use an
assigned source to start with - and include all
the information I need to go back and retrieve
the data again. Then I put in an Event for the
person with very specific information in some
cases. What I get is two fold, one it allows me
to go back and see what my source was and two, it
allows others to see where my source was or the
information that I collected on that family.

By using an event for each piece of
information I have, I get a visual picture of
where they have been if they move around.

Below is the output of my reports:

Source Information:

2. Canadian National Archives, 1901 Census - St. Antoine de Tilly,
