I seem to recollect having tried this out at some time in the past and if my
memory is correct it completely messed up the indexing of Pedigree Web Pages
- don't know about the other types though.

This option is not mentioned in the Help. And I wonder why it is listed
under Surname Index and not under Name List.
As you stated, it appears to do nothing.
