This letter annoyed me greatly. This group is a group of folk using Legacy, and sharing knowledge and frustrations - and yes, certainly help for the newbies, of which I am more or less one. I hope that majority don't see it as time educating new users, but instead people helping people. I don't think we have a problem with spamers or flamers - do we? I haven't noticed anyone trying to sell coffee mugs, shirts etc., or am I too dense to see them? Cruises, yes, what a chance to learn and yet have an enjoyable getting to know one another in person!

I am so sorry that the writer of the e-mail on disfunctional groups has had that most unfortunate experience in other groups he has been on - or part of. I hope he was not part of the problem.
