Dennis Correct!
It is not essential to current release version's of browsers to place this string between the <head></head> tags. Placing the CSS string in that section WILL WORK and is the ONLY way to place a style sheet string in all your pages. It simply is not feasible to manually update each html page. Give it a go and see for yourself. Of course you could use a text replacement option - like what can be found in the free PSPad program. As for HTML Validator's - I wouldn't be overly concerned that a style sheet string wasn't in the absolute correct place. For the record I've been coding HTML, PHP, ASP, VB Script etc etc for about 12 years. I seem to vaguely recall this being discussed a couple of years ago. It seems that most browsers are forgiving enough to accept this. I think someone stated that the styles in the .css apply from that point forward in the document. I don't know what the results would be if you ran the page thru an HTML validator. -- Dennis M.
