That sounds similar to the one I use, which was recommended for use with earlier versions of PAF, which actually came with a program called "Research Data Filer" (RDF for storing research information, which I still use. > First you assign a sequential number to each source you. The RDF program has two files - Documents and Data. And the sequential number for each Document is also entered in the Legacy "File ID" field for the appropriate sources, as a crsoss reference > I enter my sources using Geoff Rasmussen's method of detailing the source name > for the "Place Names". Actually Legacy supports it very well with the File ID field, and I think that keeping source indexes in another program is a much better idea. RDF also has a person index -- the Data file. You can index each person whose information is found in a source document. > I know this is a very brief description, and can supply more details to > those who are interested? I would be interested in more information. -- Steve Hayes E-mail: [EMAIL PROTECTED] Web: http://www.geocities.com/hayesstw/stevesig.htm Phone: 083-342-3563 or 012-333-6727 Enter the drawing for a FREE Legacy Cruise to Alaska or a FREE research trip to Salt Lake's Family History Library.
