Thanks to everyone who responded. Not being a spreadsheet buff, I tried the easiest first. (1) "telling the spreadsheet that the column contains a date" didn't work, I guess because it also includes text. (2) I made a copy of my database, altered the Date format to YYYY/MM/DD and exported the List again. Perfect!! Everything sorted in date order. (Apart from one pair "Abt.1890" but not a problem.) Hmmm. Is there a way to get Legacy's Index View to sort by birthdate?
That would be nice - but it will only sort by RIN or UserID Grateful for everyone's help. Now ... how can I figure out if any of these twins are related? <vbg> Regards, Mary Young Edinburgh, Scotland Enter the drawing for a FREE Legacy Cruise to Alaska or a FREE research trip to Salt Lake's Family History Library.
