Hmmm... yeah, it happens often: http://linux.softpedia.com/progBuy/Buy-Yellow-Dog-Linux-10407.html http://www.linuxcentral.com/catalog/?cat[]=dist&id=C1CLtBs8yP5CO http://www.osdisc.com/cgi-bin/view.cgi/index.html?affiliate=distrowatch http://www.osdisc.com/cgi-bin/view.cgi/products/linux/ubuntu http://www.osdisc.com/cgi-bin/view.cgi/products/linux/suse http://www.osdisc.com/cgi-bin/view.cgi/products/linux/knoppix http://www.osdisc.com/cgi-bin/view.cgi/products/linux/fedora http://www.linuxiso.co.uk/index.php?cPath=47 Oh, look, they're selling "free" software! Gasp! http://store.slackware.com/cgi-bin/store Once again: yes, people DO buy software even though it's potentially "free", for various reasons. You might not be able to understand, so let's help you: Yes, you can download it for "free". But it's not really free, you're paying for your high-speed/boardband connection. If you have a simple modem, it's anywhere from a big pain to almost impossible with so many possible broken downloads occurring, lines getting dropped, etc. After you get it, you have to have expertise and the appropriate software to burn the ISOs (not everyone has OS X). You also need media which costs last time I checked. You also need a CD or possibly DVD writer, which also costs last time I checked. And of course a lot of time to do all that. Oh, yeah, you also need knowledge, which last time I checked isn't pre-packaged when God or your mother put you on this earth. As I already stated in a private dialog: I bought these Linux packages, so perhaps that makes me an idiot in your view. Thanks for not understanding. I should also not buy old Mac software which has been released "for free" on the internet, because I couldn't possibly want the box and printed manuals for either nostalgia reasons or because I'm a human being and I'd rather hold something in my hand. -- You received this message because you are a member of the LEM Swap group.
