Hi Swappers, I have two 'Books for sale today. These were both used machines purchased for clients who used them for one semester and then decided not to keep them. Silly kids and their lust for MacBooks; don't they know PowerPC is king? :-)
First, an extremely nice 12" iBook G4: 1.2 GHz G4 PPC 768 MB RAM 40 GB HDD ComboDrive (DVD-ROM, CD-RW) AirPort Extreme Good battery (only 88 cycles, 3.5+ hours) LCD is in perfect shape, with no dead/stuck pixels or scratches. I'd give it a 9/10 on cosmetics: it's missing two rubber feet, including the one on the battery, and the battery is from a G3, so it doesn't quite match. Everything else on this iBook is just about as pristine as I've ever seen, with only a few very minor scuffs, and you really have to look hard to find those. Next, a well-loved, but powerful 15" PowerBook G4: 1.67 GHz G4 PPC - the fastest they made for the PB 1 GB RAM 80 GB HDD SuperDrive (DVD-RW, CD-RW) AirPort Extreme Decent Battery - (~2 hours, purchased from another swapper for this machine) Backlit keyboard, working perfectly Non-HiRes screen, but top resolution is still a luxurious 1280x854 Cosmetically, I'd say a 6.5/10, and it's the only downside of this otherwise perfectly functional machine. This was owned by an undergraduate college student, and while many take students extremely good care of their computers, this one was less fortunate. I have pictures available, but the highlights are that the wrist-rest assembly has started to separate from the bottom case on the left-hand side, there are scratches and a couple of dents on the out case, the hinges are... funky (they're not loose, but they're starting to pull away from the case in strange ways), and there's a significant dent by the power jack. I ran it by an Apple technician here in town, and he verified that none of the cosmetic issues interfere with operation. The jack itself is fine, the hinges are fine, and the trackpad assembly is fine. It just looks bad. Pick6 your poison - powerful and ugly, less powerful and pretty. $250 each, shipped, and they both come with protective sleeves (a booq Vyper for the iBook, an incase neoprene for the PB). Pictures are available, and I'm somewhat negotiable on asking price. Send offers and questions! I accept PayPal personal balance transfer and USPS Money Order only.
