I disagree with your analysis. If you don't think that the Bush forces are fascists, what do you think that they are? Certainly there are parallels, such as permanent war economy, scapegoating of certain ethnic groups, and suspension of civil liberties. If you don't think that we can learn from the Nazi German experience, what do you propose that we do? I am interested in what works, because whatever we do, we have to do it now. I think that things will get much worse. There are forces that propose a society that we would not recognize. For example, for some time there has been a movement called Christian Reconstructionism, an oppressive theocracy. There was an excellent article on this in our local gay newspaper in Sacramento, Outword. Those who will not learn from history are doomed to repeat it.
