Note: The Greenpeace office is at 250 Dundas St. WEST, not Dundas East.
The address for Greenpeace given on a leaflet about the lockout handed out
at Saturday's peace rally included a typo.

Text of the leaflet follows:

STOP GREENPEACE UNION BUSTING!

250 Dundas St. W. (Just west of University, across from 52 Division)
Monday Nov.18, noon-4pm.

Greenpeace Management is trying to bust the canvass workers union (OPEIU
local 343) by breaking their collective agreement and locking them out.

Greenpeace claims to have offered the workers other jobs, but these jobs
were NOT equivalent. Greenpeace shows its true colours by closing the
unionized Toronto canvass, while letting the non-unionized Montreal
canvass continue on. Breaking a contract mid-term is unacceptable labour
practice for anyone, doubly so for an activist group like Greenpeace. To
make matters worse, Greenpeace is trying to silence critics by using
threats of lawyers and lawsuits against anyone who dares to tell the
truth, such as indymedia.

Why fix what isn?t broke?

The canvass has been an integral part of Greenpeace for 14 years. As well
as raising millions of dollars, the canvass operation provided a much need
human face to balance the increasingly money-centred and corporate culture
of managment.

Canvass workers met and exceeded all the terms of their collective
agreement, while at the same time volunteering hundreds of hours of their
time for public protests and actions.

Support the Workers

Support the canvass workers, come to their picket line at the Greenpeace
office, 250 Dundas St. W., Monday Nov.18, noon-4pm. Solidarity Now and
Forever!
