Guerrilla Funk Recordings was born out of necessity. It’s a musical organization that was founded by Paris - the politically conscious artist best known for the incendiary song “Bush Killa” - that’s specifically intended to counter the corporate stranglehold of censorship currently plaguing the entertainment industry. It is intended to provide balance in this intolerant climate of suppression of free speech and artistic expression, and to serve as a vehicle for those who are unable - not because of lack of talent or relevance - to be heard. Understand that there now exists a harmful double-standard at most record labels of endorsing artists who only espouse misogyny, mindless violence, and drug culture references in their music -- while at the same time ignoring artists who strive to enlighten and inspire.
