AP. 17 March 2003. Dozens Block Market St. in Anti-War Protest.

SAN FRANCISCO -- About 40 people were arrested in San Francisco Monday,
in another early-morning anti-war protest in the city's Financial
District.

Most of those arrested were cited for blocking the street. All were
taken down to the Hall of Justice, cited, and released, police said.

"Maybe people will realize that everyone is not agreeing -- we are not
with Bush," one protestor said.

The protest started around 6am at the San Francisco Ferry Building.
Demonstrators walked up Market Street, and then blocked the intersection
at Sansome and Market.

Later, they tried to block the entrance to the Citicorp building. Both
pedestrian and vehicle traffic was flowing smoothly again about 9:30am.

Monday was the second workday in a row that anti-war protestors blocked
Market St. for the morning commute. Friday, about 80 people were
arrested at the intersection of 1st and Market.
