Leo's settings can be improved, but they are pretty good as they are,
and a major new interface doesn't seem like it would be worthwhile.  I
tried a gui-based interface maybe 5 years ago and I ended up ripping
it out: the convenience and flexibility of storing settings in Leo
outlines trumps visual considerations, imo.

Having said that, I've made a note of your suggestions, and I'll think
about ways of doing something similar.
