Recent commits have fixed (three separate times) a weird problem with the recent files menu that caused an extra menu to appear. All now appears well in master, devel, and the new 5.7.1 branch, which is for release-related work. All menus now contain at least a few top-level items. Imo, it's a bit weird to have a menu consist *only* of submenus. Please do test all menu items and report any problems immediately.
