@Thomas I found the command that allows you to break zettels out of an 
imported file.  In the body you select the lines you want, hit 
shift-Command-D and it splits your selection out into a new node (under the 
parent heading for the imported file) with the first line as the new 
heading.
So, import file, select lines, make zettels. Can discard unwanted parts in 
same process. So that's a start on one way to bring a file in and break it 
up into zettel nodes.
