I agree with the reasons behind documenting the build order. I am for
documenting all the dependencies so that the person who builds an LFS
knows why Package A is built before Package B. I don't like the excuse
"You the user should trust us the editors".

But I thought that all this has already been discussed before and
after discussion the project leads decided to create a branch for the
changes and then merge the changes back to head after the results were
tested.
