Sorry for my incomplete info, but somewhere not very deep in the kernel
sources was a define of how default tty's should be assumed counting
from 0. For a very short period, and on only one box, I edited that
number down drastically (I defined 13 ttys). No problems whatsoever and
a much nicer looking /dev. :)
