Due to all the ICA testing on the alpha branch, I think it is time to fold that branch into trunk. Are there any specific reasons why this should not be done now?
Following that, I also think it is time to fold udev_update into trunk and I would welcome some ICA results before that happens. While not yet ready for a testing branch, I think it's purpose as a POC branch has been fulfilled (i.e. a hotplug-less system is viable). The main reason to bring up udev_update's merge is that BLFS SVN, by policy, needs to track LFS SVN, which literally means trunk. I think we all agree trunk can't really progress at this point due to the udev/hotplug/kernel coordination and now trunk is starting to hold BLFS back on major things like Gnome. Short of ICA results, are there any specific reasons why udev_update should not be merged into trunk in the next week or two? -- Archaic Want control, education, and security from your operating system?
