 On the plus side for doing a release now: when I got back online,
perhaps a month ago now (and still no access to my original
mail account - excuse me for a moment while I swear at virgin
media ... ) there were clearly people using LFS-svn - I remember
a bug in firefox's rendering was mentioned, and apparently
solved by a patch checked in to either nss or nspr, so it seems
to build desktops that are mostly ok.

 Also, I think we've generally looked for more testing once LFS
seems to be ready for a release.

 On the negative side, I share the disquiet with a .0 gcc release,
but I'm not aware of any deal-breaking bugs in it.
