If that's your principle benefit, then one would question your ROI; and
perhaps also wisdom at getting into - and certainly staying in - the
transaction, given its entirely predictable consequences.
One doesn't need systemd to have rigourous ordering and handling/control
of boot scripts: it's easy to spec and parse dependency chains - rather
like is done for packages in b/lfs. Sure, some rats-nest software (usually
proprietary(-ish), and junk-y) needs a bit more handling (again, analogous
to b/lfs): but it's not true that the only way to deal with such
rats-nest proprietary junk, is by throwing other rats-nest proprietary
junk (as sysd essentially is) at it.
