Thank you, but I'm sorry, I got my systems mixed up - the one I want to run avconf on is Debian (Wheezy), not Ubuntu. I have another system that is Ubuntu and since the two are so similar I sometimes get them confused. My mistake entirely. It appears that ppa has versions for Ubuntu 14.04 and 14.10, but not for Debian.
