Really good article - how did you know there'd be a "but" - but I have a couple of examples where the CodecContext->timebase value is showing something other than 25 fps for a PAL video stream. One of them is a DVD VOB file where the timebase value is returned as 50 frames per second and the other is a WMV where the timebase value is returned as 1000 frames per sec.
In both case, the video has a timecode superimposed prior to encoding and looking at each frame individually (extracted to JPEG) I can see that there are only 25 frames per second. Any ideas, anyone?
