OpenSource : Right but to use libavcodec under LGPL you must it in your soft
as an external component (dll under windows...)
Patent: MPEG 2 audio bitstream format is a standard and is based on several
patent...you can used the mpeg2 encoder provide by libavcodec (for free),
But i "think" that if you make a commercial usage of the resulting product,
you must pay some royalties...Aware, i'm not a lawyer !!!
