This is a bit confusing. Which code is it?
It's clear you assume that source in libavcodes is GPL since the
configure script leaves it out when not enabling GPL.
I find that h264 gives by far the best video output when converting
to mp4. Are there any alternatives that can be used under LGPL?
Brian, are you sure it gets left out? I think there's two H.264
decoders - ffmpeg's built-in, and x264. x264 is separate project, and
definitely is GPL. If you enable GPL, you get that - I believe it
replaces the internal version. If you don't, I think you get a more
basic LGPL version. We have LGPL settings, and get H.264 (although I
feel compelled to go check now).
