Hi,

I am decoding a 1080p MKV video using libavformat and libavcodec..
But it seems to be very slow, about 17 frames are decoded per second...

The same movie plays back in VLC smooth without any frame-drops (at least, the
option "Drop frames" isn't enabled)

Does anyone know what I might be doing wrong? Or how I could make it faster?

This is how I am doing the measurement:
http://ffmpeg.pastebin.com/d761d80f7

Looks a bit ugly the code, but I wanted to have only (!) the av_decode_video2
function in the time-measurement loop.. so I am caching the packets etc.

For this test I am using the libs as static linked 32bit libs without
mmx-support (I had to turn mmx off to make it compile... working on Mac OSX
10.6.2)

Any ideas?

Best regards,
Aya
