When I was in the Army at Fort Knox (1974-1977), they had a previous version of 
this round. It used flechettes, which are one-inch nail-like projectiles with 
tiny fins for stability. They would not have had the longer range or 
penetrating power of these tungsten balls, but were lethal to anything inside 
the cone of fire. Flechettes are now available online, but you'd have to find a 
way to "deliver" them. Poor dumb me, I cannot figure out what one could use to 
throw several hundred of these things downrange.
