Having thrashed the New Hampshire Wildcats (Hampsters) in last week's
"Free State Bowl", the Montana Grizzlies take on Sam Houston State
University at 12:00 pm Saturday (2:00 pm EST). The game will be
carried
world-wide by ESPN 2 and on radio on KGVO: http://www.mtgriz.com/
(maybe a TV internet connect at that Griz site).
It's being told in the Triad that SHSU used to be named the Sam
Houston
Institute of Technology, or S.H.I.T. Needless to say, the "Bearcats"
(?)
decided to change their name in more politically correct times.
However,
because of this, some are referring to tomorrows game as the "Toilet
Bowl"
for lack of a better name.
The Griz played the Bearcats in early (non-conference) September
in
east Texas. In that game the temperature was about 95 degrees and
the
humidity over 90%. Because of the conditions and having to fight
off
chiggers and roaches, the Griz lost. Saturday's game will be played
in
Missoula, where there are no chiggers or insects, and the playing
conditions
are normal. It is to rain tomorrow in Missoula with a high of 54
degrees.
