tdf#109098 is a worksforme, regular update-checker will stay on the same
codeline until EOL and then propose cross-update to next version (mar updater
and the appstore versions will cross-update earler though, around when new
branch reaches x.y.3 - but no fixed scheme, might also be a .4)
(well, actually it is a bit more advanced if the user never bothered to install
udpates for the old version they will get offered the new version if that
reaches the same micro version)
