Description:
At the extreme there are two different demographics with very different needs:
* People with poor eyesight. For accessibility reasons, they need sheet tabs to
be big enough to be legible, so the font in sheet tabs should be comparable
with the rest of the UI.
* People who have many sheets. Having to scroll through sheet tabs is very
annoying and a loss of productivity. Picking shorter names can help
significantly, but you need some length for clarity and the wide padding also
gets in the way (it's helpful to avoid tabs that are too small if you put a one
character name, it's annoying when you'd prefer to display a few characters
more for a clear tab name).
The default setting should probably lean towards accessibility (it appears this
was changed to be that way back in 2019), but it can't be optimal for everyone.
Unfortunately, there doesn't appear to be any setting anywhere to adjust sheet
tab padding or sheet tab font size, even between a few presets.
Although I understand the need to avoid options creep, I think some kind of
option for sheet tab size would be useful for many users.
