            Bug ID: 170798
Summary: Cursor is also ALWAYS setting a tab in Writer.
           Product: LibreOffice
           Version: 7.3.2.2 release
          Hardware: Other
                OS: macOS (All)
            Status: UNCONFIRMED
          Severity: normal
          Priority: medium
         Component: Writer
          Assignee: [email protected]
          Reporter: [email protected]

Description:
As I am creating a document or editing one and want to go back and add or edit
something I have already written, a thin vertical line following the cursor
with a black triangle pointing to the right just to the right of that line both
of which follows the horizontal movement of my cursor. If I click ANYWHERE to
the left of the paragraph mark at the ending where the enter key has been used
to complete a line of text, LibreOffice puts in an indent where the cursor was
as indicated by the upper point of the triangular follower of the cursor. To
clear it and get back the original end of the line paragraph mark, I have to
click undo and then the cursor goes back to my desired point of editing. This
started just in the last fiew weeks and I am finally fed up with it enough to
report it since I could not find anything in the "Help" resources.

Steps to Reproduce:
1.Type some lines of text or select a fle with some text longer than a single
paragraph.
2. Turn on the "Toggle Formatting Marks".
3.Move cursor just to the right of the paragraph mark on any paragraph in the
document and the cursor will have the thin vertical line one "line of text"
tall with a black triangle the same height just to the right of that thin line.
If I click there, I expect to have the cursor land just to the left of the
paragraph mark, but instead, it sets a tab where the cursor was and puts the
cursor just to the left of that new tab.

Actual Results:
To get what I had been expecting, I have to click on the undo icon and then the
tab location is reset to the old paragraph mark. Now I can begin my edits.

Expected Results:
I expect the cursor and the tab function to be separate operatons.

Reproducible: Always

User Profile Reset: No

Additional Info:
As with all other text apps I have used from Microsoft Word to Text Edit, the
cursor can be clicked anywhere on the line where the paragraph marker is and it
will move just to the left of the paragraph mark of that line whether it be the
first character of that line where no text is there or the last character of
the line.

I could NOT find my user profile anywhere on my MacBook Air I looked where it
was suggested in your "Expert information" and "Default locations" sections
even doing word searches on segments of the directory locations you indicated
and only came up with one potential file that didn't look like anything you
pointed me to. That filename is "LibreOffice_7.3.2_MacOS_x86-64.dmg". If that
is what I need to backup and then test, okay but it seems too big to be a
UserProfile file at over 285 MB on my HD. It is located in the "Applications"
folder.
