--- Comment #12 from Eyal Rozenberg <[email protected]> --- (In reply to V Stuart Foote from comment #9) > The intermediary "pause" on the page indicator makes it clear during search > exactly where the matches thusfar have been found. When you land on the > "page separator" you are signaled that you have exhausted all the matches > for a specific page. So, your objection is enough for me to take back the confirmation. Let's get more comments and settle this in a design meeting (maybe). > Sorry, but I find that a very useful design and implementation. But why is the visual indication not enough? Why does there need to be a dummy selection there? > Also, unlike Eyal--I am able to mouse click on the "page separator" to > refocus the result navigation to matches on that specific page. Win11 with > recent nightly against 26.8 or with I tried again after your comment, and I noticed that if I single-click the separator - it's not selected (unlike an actual search result); but if I double-click it - it becomes selected. I was using: Version: 26.8.0.0.alpha0+ (X86_64) Build ID: 4bf07d898cd3084ff9012f11776d1489b103236c CPU threads: 4; OS: Linux 6.12; UI render: default; VCL: gtk3 Locale: en-IL (en_IL); UI: en-US (In reply to Danat from comment #10) > Respectfully, is there anybody except yourself who would find it useful? > Like would anybody ask for it out of a genuine need? I doubt anybody would That is not really a respectful question, because you're suggesting Stuart is some extremely odd and eccentric person. Also, you need to remember than when we file bugs - only a tiny number of people reviews them. So if one of these people believes that a certain behavior is useful, then it is likely that there are others who share that opinion. Maybe a few, maybe a lot. So, one objection is enough to put a suggestion into question - and require a more involved discussion. Let's challenge Stuart to flesh out his position more (which I've tried doing above), and see whether he makes a convincing argument or whether we can convince him. I've filed lots of bugs which I thought are really obvious only to be frustrated when others don't see it that way. In fact, I've had long standing arguments with Stuart about some of these (like PDF import and editing functionality). And while I'll resist people closing bugs I believe are important as WONTFIX or NOTABUG - I can't mark things I feel strongly about as NEW. Sometimes I get my way, sometimes I don't. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug.
