Following step 4, After selecting the one member shape and copying, do not de-select the shape and initiate a paste on top of it making sure the cursor stays above it then try to click the shape. Additional Note: Pasting then clicking outside the group/shape does not crash. Deselecting the shape after copying then pasting works.
