I currently can't think of a reasonable way to simply make an existing Qt style dark or light. The only idea I can think of right now would be to allow for the user to choose a Qt style from a list of existing styles that applies only for LO and would thus override the system-wide default (set in Plasma system settings) used for other applications. Based on that, setting the "application colors" (what the light/dark selector is for at the moment) accordingly (based on whether the selected style is dark or light) could make sense.
