Description:
After attempting to launch a formerly working installation of LibreOffice
writer, LibreOffice will no longer launch at all, no components will launch. It
gave several software update progress bars the first time, taking about a
minute and a half before failing silently. After reboot, further attempts to
launch using any icon, including safe mode, produce no visible result.
Steps to Reproduce:
1.Click on LibreOffice Writer Icon on Win10 Start menu

attempts updates first time, fails silently
later attempts have no visible effect
Expected Results:
LO Writer launches, (preferably without auto updates to avoid the risk of
damaging the user's installation as happened here)
Reproducible: Always
