--- Comment #4 from [email protected] --- I tested your suggestion with a completely new Writer document. I created a new blank document containing only plain text, enough to fill 30 pages. There are no images, tables, floating frames, or other objects. I saved the document as ODT, closed it, and reopened it. After interacting with the vertical scrollbar, the problem reproduced fairly quickly. Writer displayed the macOS spinning beach ball and remained unresponsive for approximately 11 seconds before recovering normally.
