I merely copied the same approach LibreOffice has used for many years for handling swipe and scroll wheel events so I am guessing your mouse just generates a significantly higher number of mouse drag events per second than mine does. I think the fix is a fairly low risk change so I have submitted the fix for inclusion in the upcoming LibreOffice 26.2.6 release.
