For improvements see bug 164757 "Improve method for user, or admin, to block MAR updater". So we talk about showing this checkbox on the welcome dialog, and I disagree. Updates are essential for safety and stability, we provide a less-frequently changing version too. The information should rather go to the updater itself asking optionally (here opt-out too, ie.
