Bug ID: 173687
Summary: Add Line Number Margin
Product: LibreOffice
Version: 26.2.2.2 release
Hardware: All
OS: All
Status: UNCONFIRMED
Severity: enhancement
Priority: medium
Component: Writer
Assignee: [email protected]
Reporter: [email protected]
Description:
(Note: I am aware of the tool that adds actual text numbers to document, what I
am mentioning is different)
-Suggesting to add a `line number margin` on left side.
-User can turn on/off in Menu Bar "View" drop down.
-The width of this `line number margin` by default would be 2 digits.
This way the line margin does not have to shift/animate wider going from 9 to
10.
-If the amount of lines goes over 99, then the width of the `line number
margin` increases to fit the 3 digits, and so on.
-Would mainly be for the view mode: `Web`
Would have to decide if would also show in `Normal` view mode as well.
Thank you to anyone who reads this
