You ask to automatically increase the page margin. I miss the use case, first of all, and doubt the envisioned variable is standardized and survives a round-trip. You can of course change Format > Page Style > Margins to any value, even using a "character unit (ch)" (that likely not does what you want, though). Usually it depends on what you intend to do with the document.
