As for the DATEDIF() function, leave it alone. It is there for interoperability and backward compatibility. Most spreadsheet tools recommend users to use other alternative functions instead of DATEDIF() when possible, precisely because of several shortcomings of the function. There is no point to invest resources in "correcting" this function in any way at all. There are other functions that indeed deserve to be corrected (and the list is not that short).
