--- Comment #10 from Octavio Alvarez <[email protected]> ---
Maybe there is a misunderstanding, but the goal is NOT to have a multiple
AutoFilters, but a single one that works as a single one. Example:

0. Starting with clean Calc sheet.
1. User imports 5 columns of external data, A:E.
2. User adds column F with extra calculations calculated from the data.
3. User wants to filter on a combination of B AND F (not separate AutoFilters).

This is not currently possible without redefining the database range first
before applying the AutoFilter. But, redefining the range makes "Data > Refresh
range" erase the new content in the extra column. The only way would be to
temporarily expand the database range, apply the Autofilter and redefine the
database range back to its original value after removing the AutoFilter. This
is unnecessary. If the database range is restored while the AutoFilter is still
shown, the last column still has the checkbox but no values are shown as
options (the AutoFilter gets buggy).

Instead, a user should be able to simply select A:F and apply AutoFilter and
get an AutoFilter from A to F that works as a single AutoFilter. This is
expected according to the current help text:

> When no cell range is selected, the AutoFilter will apply to the column up to
> the first empty cell. Please ensure that you select the appropriate range
> before applying the AutoFilter.

The text is saying that there is a default and the default can be overridden by
selecting the appropriate cell range before. The help does not say anything
about the database range intervening.

The help text does not mention database ranges as influencing AutoFilters.

Also, according to the Calc Guide:

> It is possible to add AutoFilters to individual columns by selecting those
> columns before choosing Data > AutoFilter, clicking the AutoFilter icon, or
> pressing Ctrl+Shift+L, but this is not normally necessary for a database
> table.

It does not say that extra columns will behave as different AutoFilters. The
expectation is always to have a single AutoFilter unless a user explicitly asks
for two AutoFilters by following two AutoFilter procedures.
