My desktop is a Windows 7 SP1 with 8 Gb Ram. This is not the only pc or portable with that problem. On a Windows XP machine SP3 with 2 GB of Ram I have the same problem. There was no antivirus on that machine because I was reinstalling it. The machine was not connected to the internet so no virus or other malware was installed.
