This file has always been a LO native .odt

I now copy-pasted the text across to a new LO document. This document behaves
as I expect it to.

Somehow, the .doc file has inherited some weird behaviour from Microsoft,
though I cannot see any obvious difference in the way the system is configured
or in any of the document properties..

Both documents are entirely in "default style". So what is it about the "MS
inheritance" that makes LO's behaviour go so weird? Is there some way I could
find this in the UI? Is there a way to say that the editing modes are a
property of my own LO configuration, and not part of the document?

Sorry I originally completely mis-classified this bug. Please allow me to
re-open it.
