But only if you never use it again. A typical use case is a notebook, which is
sometimes in the network of the printer and sometimes not.

Not really.

IMHO ... then a better workaround would be to use MS Office... you could still
print, don't have to manipulate files and don't have all these troubles in the
M$ world. ;) ;)


Since the problem is related to the spooler service, the easiest workaround is
to start/stop the spooler service.
An option is to write a small script that switches off the spooler service as
soon as you're on the go. You could check the printer status via Powershell or
cmd to see if the service has to be started or stopped. If necessary, you could
call the script when you log in.
So it becomes bearable in the end, but of course ... nothing more.
