A few things to note: 1) As you can see from the video, underlining and superscripting don't affect the formatting of the number, while bold/italics/strikethrough/font color do. 2) I didn't show this in the video, but it really is dependent on the formatting of the last character. If I add a space that is formatted just as bold, then that's how the number appears. (That's my current workaround for this issue when the last word in the heading needs to be in italics.)
