Work will roll with a nightly in a day or so, test then or roll your own.
Heiko, with assistance, resolved the issue here as he indicated in comment 17,
though he probably should have notated the commit with both BZ issues and left
this issue open.
The AC System will follow system theming, including 'night mode', wile it
provides the requested ability to Set both UI and AC from one location--Tools
-> Options -> View.
