Nope, doesn't work either; when you press the ctrl+U the second time to turn it
off,
it removes the formatting from the Bravo you just typed.
(Here I used ctrl-left  to move back from the end of Charlie to the beginning
of Charlie - I assume that's what you meant not alt+right???)
This is what I had in d1/e1 in my report.
