This kinda sounds like a security nightmare to me in environments that are not entirely closed down (so also being disconnected from the web). If the file is *entirely* under your control, this might be a convenient feature to have, but what if any maleware would change the file? The file content would be important and the end user wouldn't even be asked. Now think exactly the same situation when you have a shared document in a corporate environment.
