--- Comment #9 from BDF <[email protected]> --- (In reply to groby999 from comment #0) > Currently, LibreOffice uses two similar menu entries: > - “Export as PDF…” > - “Export Directly as PDF” > vs. > EN: > - “Export as PDF (with options)…” > - “Quick export as PDF” > I'm not against this, as the function could be a little more clear what it does. However, now the question is what a "direct" export is. After the change the question will just change to what a "quick" export is. (In reply to BogdanB from comment #4) > (In reply to fpy from comment #3) > > Default export to PDF ? > > Its not a default. If you change settings in export to pdf, the direct > export will keep the latest changes from export. THIS is a actually a very important information as this is not said anywhere on or near the button. I also assumed that it was an export with default settings. As the option for direct export is exposed as UI button in the default UI view, the button *label* could may be changed to "Export PDF (last settings)” (target: 4 words max because it's exposed in the tabbed UI) The *tooltip* could be something longer and may changed to "Export as PDF with last export settings" ("last settings" vs. "last export settings"?). This would be a rather long tooltip, but a) that's not something new (see 'Merge and center') and b) that space is not occupied as 'desktop real estate'. An example for this could be 'Merge and center' in Calc. Sorta short name under the UI button with a longer explanation in the tooltip. IMHO the UI button name should not be longer than 4 words because of the tabbed UI where the button name is visible and space usage get's worse with every additional word. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are on the CC list for the bug.
