I'm running Sonique on a L100 w/64MB Ram and I've bee quite happy with
the sound of 128kb .mp3s. Most often, though, its in the car running
through a cassette adapter so that's not the greatest place to evaluate.
Even then I can reduce almost all the background noise by adjusting the
Sonique volume, the Win95 volume and the car stereo volume.
Running on headphones or cheap speakers also sounds fine for my uses and
with the recent arrival of compatible 12-20GB HDs, you can carry quite a bit
of music around with you.

HTH,
Chris.

Subject: MP3 - Sound on Libretto

Hi all,

I'm kinda looking into potentially purchasing a Libretto, but first I just
want to clear up a few areas.

I know that all the Libretto's come supplied with them a sound blaster pro
(or clone). But if my memory serves me right, aren't these cards only 8bit
stereo? What I want to use the machine for, primairily, is for MP3's and I
don't think this the soundblaster pro is going to be good enough for them.
Can anyone tell me what experiences that they have had with this?

I have also been looking at soundblaster 16 PCMCIA cards, if anyone has any
info on these I would be very grateful.

Thanks,

Iain
